Hi! I'm Michelle, a new mom and co-creator of Happy Charlie. Welcome.
In the next few minutes, I'll show you how to log and ask questions with just your voice, in the app and with Siri.
Our examples use Maya, a sample baby. When you talk to the app or to Siri, use your own baby's name.
To log using voice in the app tap the microphone at the bottom of Home, and say what happened.
For example, to start a nursing timer: say "Start nursing on the left."
The screen shows what was understood. It saves itself after five seconds.
When nursing is done: say "Stop nursing."
To log a bottle: say "Maya drank 4 ounces of formula."
To log a nap: "Maya napped for two hours at 1 PM"
To log a diaper: "Maya had a wet diaper."
If something was saved by mistake, tap the trash can right after, to undo it.
You can ask questions, too. To ask about the last feed: say "When was the last feed?"
The answer comes from what's been logged, and shows who logged it
Or ask: "Are any timers running?"
On an iPhone, you can also log with Siri using two steps. First say:
"Hey Siri, log with Happy Charlie."
Log what?
"Maya had 4 ounces of formula."
Maya had 4 fluid ounces of formula at 9:41 AM.
Siri says back what was saved, and you can undo or edit it in the app.
You can ask Siri questions, too, in one breath:
"Hey Siri, ask Happy Charlie when was the last feed."
Maya's last feed was at 9:41 AM, 1 minute ago: 4 fluid ounces formula.
That's it. A few taps, or a few words, and everyone caring for your baby is up to date.
