Growth percentiles
Happy Charlie shows where a growth measurement you entered falls on a published growth reference: the WHO Child Growth Standards before age 2, then the CDC 2000 growth charts from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. It is a position on a reference, not an assessment; your child’s pediatrician interprets growth.
Percentiles compare a measurement with a published growth reference.
- 72nd percentile: 72 of 100 same-sex, same-age children in the reference measured less.
- Under 2: WHO Child Growth Standards, for weight, length and head size.
- From 2: CDC 2000 growth charts; head size to 3 only.
- Born early? Add a due date for corrected age until 2.
